Hello! My name is Vanessa...
I'm a children's book illustrator, professional ballet dancer, and educator based in the USA. My illustrations carry a sense of whimsy and are often inspired by my love of the ocean, miniatures, pastel colors, animals, ballet, swirls, butterflies, and sprinkles. I am a graduate of the Alvin Ailey School and hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Fordham University at Lincoln Center in NYC.
My picture book Crafterina® has been developed into a coloring & craft book series designed to spark imagination and inspire movement. I am a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and have been acknowledged as a winner of the Pentel Arts Spotlight Competition, National Maker Faire Editor's Choice Blue Ribbon, and featured in Metro US Newspaper, Dance Spirit & Dance Teacher Magazines, National Museum of Dance, and The Walt Disney Family Museum.
